As we all view from afar and witness our North Florida and southern neighbors reel from the impact of Hurricane Michael, we struggle with how we can help.
There is a way, through Feeding Tampa Bay.
Feeding Tampa Bay (FTB), a Tampa based organization who helps make nearly every meal possible at Trinity Cafe, has taken action over the past week to provide relief for those affected by Hurricane Michael, activating volunteers, sourcing additional resources to re-route north, and has been communicating with state, regional and national partners to identify where help is and will be needed most.
Thus far the team at FTB has utilized their volunteer force to prepare hundreds of meal boxes, sent two truckloads of water, MRE’s and other food to Levy and Dixie counties and deployed a Feeding Tampa Bay truck with staff driver to the area to offer support with plans and partners on board to launch further efforts beginning the morning of October 12th.
Much like what we know here at Trinity Cafe, there is power in numbers. We can volunteer our time or donate funds that will directly support those affected by Hurricane Michael’s path.
