Cindy Davis joined Trinity Cafe in 2009 as its program director. She has a passion for the cafe’s mission of interacting and treating guests with great respect. Her goal is to change the world a little each day by ensuring that fewer people go to bed hungry each night. She coordinates a network of community volunteers and oversees the dining room operation. She enjoys her work writing grants, planning events and producing content for the newsletter. She obtained her non-profit management certification through the University of South Florida. She has participated in the Bank of America Nonprofit Impact series along with various training programs through the Nonprofit Leadership Center of Tampa Bay and the Foundation Center.
Cindy has 35 years of experience in advertising, marketing and communications having spent her first career at The Tampa Tribune newspaper. She developed an interest in the underserved when she was involved in the Adopt-A-Family program during her employment at the paper. While delivering food and gifts to recipients she opened refrigerator after refrigerator to find sparse contents and sometimes none at all. She also found the recipients had a great desire to interact and talk about their struggles and their gratitude. This planted the seed for her future work with Trinity Cafe.
She has served as president of PTA boards over the years and is a member of the Wellswood Civic Association and the Suncoast Blues Society. She has volunteered time and contributed resources to various organizations over the years including Trinity Cafe, Metropolitan Ministries, The Spring, Amazing Love Ministries, St. John’s United Methodist Church, Adopt-A-Family and Meals on Wheels.
Cindy is a native of Tampa, married with three children, three grandchildren and one four-legged child. Hobbies include Cajun cooking, fishing and exploring traditional delta blues music. Her peaceful spot in the world is the beach. She proclaims to “Work hard. Play hard. Give back. Do all things with a full heart.”
