Before the sun rises, our kitchen team begins preparing three course meals for both Trinity Cafe locations. Then (thanks to Ferman Automotive), the van is carefully loaded to transport meals to Trinity Cafe 2.

After arriving at Trinity Cafe 2, food is plated on fine china in the kitchen while volunteers, donors and community leaders come together to serve guests. First-time volunteers receive orientation, responsibilities are assigned and everyone joins hands to bless the day.post3

This first week as guests learn about our opening has provided time for additional fellowship, filling the memorial hall at the First Church of God with moments of connection and encouragement.

Trinity Cafe 2 became a reality thanks to generous donors and grants from Bank of America and Hillsborough County.  Bank of America (pictured below) dedicated their afternoon to serve at Trinity Cafe 2 on Thursday, and Hillsborough County Commissioner Kevin Beckner and his staff plan to serve in May.

The meals served to our guests are fresh, nutritious and delicious! Many compliments are extended to our executive chef, Jimmy Rice.

How can you help Trinity Cafe 2?

  1. With double the daily meals to serve with dignity brings double the volunteer opportunities. Sign up to volunteer here and invite a friend or coworker to join you.
  2. Right now all gifts up to $5,000 are still being matched by Ferman Automotive to help fund the van — make your gift before the end of the month and it will double the impact on hunger!
  3. Connect with us on Facebook. This is as simple as liking our page, checking in when you volunteer, telling us about your Trinity Cafe experience or sharing our posts.
