Volunteer Training

Becoming a volunteer is simple at Trinity Cafe, our volunteers are a diverse group with a common desire, serving those in need.

Many of our volunteer come regularly. They enjoy fulfillment gained by serving those in need. You only need to bring yourself and your willingness to work and interact in face-to-face conversation with our guests. We provide aprons, gloves and any equipment you might need. The pace is fast. Wear close toed shoes and bring a kind heart.

Minimum age to volunteer is 16 years old.

Community service hours are accepted for educational purposes only.
Please bring school documents for signature on day of service to be signed by staff/coordinator.
An average of 2 hours will be approved with a maximum of 2.5 hours for daily volunteer service.
On-line forms must be submitted day of service as well.

As a volunteer, there are a variety of opportunities to serve:

  • Serving guests
  • Hosting tables
  • Greeting guests
  • Pouring drinks
  • Preparing silverware
  • Cleaning tables

Our goal is to have one server and one host companion per table. A volunteer coordinator will be responsible for delegating assignments to the volunteers. We ask our servers and table companions to be loving, encouraging, and supportive to each guest, while not being overly inquisitive or questioning them as to how they have arrived at their current stage in life.
